Last week, Allied Universal was awarded a contract to provide services for Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation Services and Public Works’ armed security guard services. The 5-year, $190 million contract was unanimously approved following the completion of an 8-year contract with Allied Universal.
Allied Universal Continues to Serve Miami-Dade County
Allied Universal security professionals can be found at DTPW maintenance facilities, Metrorail and Metromover stations, bus maintenance facilities, passenger park-and-ride lots, major bus terminals, and all other facilities that support the County’s mass transit system.
The new contract is significantly larger than the previous one, despite being for a shorter period of time. It is more expansive than the previous one due to additional security requirements. It also includes a recent wage increase. This increase has allowed Allied Universal to provide an hourly rate higher than the county’s living wage and has assisted Allied Universal in hiring and maintaining security personnel.
