Miami’s Migrating Tech Scene Meeting and Questionnaire

On December 15th, City of Miami Mayor, Francis Suarez, hosted the first Zoom meeting regarding “Miami’s Growing Tech Scene.” The meeting was attended by over 250 people with an interest in making Miami an international tech and innovation hub.

Initially attributed to a favorable tax climate, access to the Caribbean and South American economies, and the warm, sunny weather, the recent influx of business into South Florida is also a reflection of the pandemic. Mayor Suarez stated that “Covid accelerated that process, now you can work where you want to be not where you have to be.”

Mayor Suarez considers part of his responsibility as mayor to act as a ‘facilitator’ for these incoming businesses. In an effort to encourage tech and other business, he hosted the Zoom meeting to help those that are considering relocating to Miami.

He’s offering more help for businesses in the decision-making process or those who have recently relocated to South Florida. On Twitter, he published a very simple survey, which can be found here, to see how the Mayor’s office can further assist in growing the South Florida tech market. If your business could benefit from being a part of Miami’s Growing Tech Scene, we highly encourage you to complete it.
