Our newly appointed County Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins does not want Miami-Dade County to be left at the altar in the race to attract technology companies, entrepreneurs, and investors to relocate their headquarters to low-tax business-friendly jurisdictions. In support of this endeavor, she has launched #MiamiDadeTECH and more.
Commissioner Cohen Higgins will present a plan on January 20, 2021, before the Board of County Commissioners urging our County Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava to spearhead measures on both the local and state level to attract headquarter relocation. In partnership with the Board of County Commissioners and the Mayor, she seeks to create an economic development plan to attract the technology industry from Silicon Valley to relocate its headquarters to Miami-Dade County.
The Commissioner also highlights and congratulates Miami's Promoter-In-Chief Mayor Francis Suarez's for his robust efforts in his #MiamiTech campaign.
However, she acknowledges that it is in the best interests of Miami-Dade County to also promote the relocation of the technology industry, professionals, companies, and investors to Miami-Dade County and the launch of new technology start-ups in Miami-Dade County to create new jobs and strengthen the County's economy. Perhaps #MiamiDadeTECH will trend.
The Commissioner does not forget our locals; she is also pushing to foster and encourage technology start-ups to launch their business and remain in Miami-Dade County, to retain and promote technology companies currently existing in Miami-Dade County, and to promote the creation of a technology hub.
Finally, the Commissioner seeks to memorialize a specific collaboration with the Beacon Council, Inc., the official economic development agency for Miami-Dade County, to attract technology companies to relocate their headquarters and launch start-ups in Miami-Dade County, and to promote the development of existing technology companies.
